Privacy
Effective October 3, 2026. M² Tropos uses only the information needed to provide weather, account, notification, reporting, Field Mode, and internal operational features.
When you enable location-aware features, M² may store the latest alert coordinate and related accuracy/time metadata. The standard notification system is designed around the latest coordinate rather than a location-history timeline. Authorized Field Mode and M² Spotter team-position features may transmit live position while you explicitly keep field tracking active.
Information we process
- Account identity and authentication data supplied by the sign-in provider.
- Push-notification endpoint, device token verifier, notification settings, and latest alert location.
- Volunteer Spotter applications, credential documents, review status, and approved field identity.
- Storm reports, attached report media, observation details, and moderation records.
- For internal Live Video, WebRTC session and signaling metadata. The Live Video feature does not itself record the peer-to-peer media stream.
How information is used
Information is used to deliver requested weather services, route alerts, authenticate restricted features, coordinate authorized field operations, moderate reports, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and support product operations.
Sharing
M² does not sell personal information. Data may be processed by infrastructure and service providers used to operate the product, and may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, M², or the public.
Your controls
You can disable notifications, stop Field Mode or Spotter location sharing, end Live Video, sign out, or stop granting browser/device permissions. Some retained operational or legal records may remain where required for security, integrity, moderation, or compliance.
